CENTRIA University of Applied Sciences/The Center for Fur Design and Juthbacka Cultural Centre have combined their knowlegde and started an EU-project together.

FutureFURstudio is located in Ostrobothnia, Finland. It serves the whole fur trade and design field:  companies, designers, teachers and students. The aim is to encourage the use of fur in design products for example in furniture and also in totally new areas. In the project models of activities corresponding to the needs of the design companies will be developed, an open and innovative environment will be created and the design knowledge will be developed on international basis. The FutureFURstudio also creates new networks between designers and manufactures.

FutureFURstudio –projects functions in following main lines:

Product development services
Companies/designers will be able to come and test their ideas in their collections through the guidance of professional furriers. The project will also offer companies/designers different kinds of product development services.

Creative workshops
The project arranges creative workshops. Designers and professionals from different countries work together  with a given theme and design an innovative collection made mainly from furs produced in Ostrobothnia.

International marketing
The collections designed in the workshops will be shown  at the most important international fashion fairs, exhibitions and other events.

FutureFURstudio –project has developed different kind of education modules in English. Modules are organized by CENTRIA University of Applied Sciences.  More information about modules and contents on FUR MODULES section.
